I've always been skeptic as to the efficiency of free antivirus programs. There's very few of them out there. Avast has a good reputation as a free antivirus app and it definitely loads tons of features. It can protect all of your programs, especially IM and P2P, something essential these days.
But why is it so slow!!!seems to take half a day just to scan my PC. I'm not really satisfied with the results either. I've often had to run another antivirus to make sure I caught every malware. Another big turnoff is the interface. I find it very confusing, the different tools don't stand out.
